Hire A Hubby in Your Community

As Australia’s leading handyman franchise, we are honoured to have a local business owner in over 300 communities across the country. Our Hubbies are always pleased to give back to the local area they work in through a number of initiatives, including sponsoring sports teams, planting vegetable gardens and building furniture. Here’s some of what our Hubbies have been getting up to…

Margie’s Renovation

On the 7th November 2016, Steve from Hire A Hubby Port Stephens featured on A Current Affair as part of an hour long special on a renovation project for Margie Richardson. Margie and Geoffrey Richardson were both police officers, who had worked for over 33 years between them. They went on to get married in 2004 and planned to start a family and buy a house to renovate. All that changed in March 2016, when Geoffrey was killed while in police pursuit. Geoffrey leaves behind his two young children – seven-year-old Patrick, and Aiden, who was just five months old at the time of the accident. Margie and Geoffrey had always focused on their community – organising fundraisers, blue light discos and school reading groups. So on the day of her husband’s funeral, Margie made herself a promise. She would accept help to get the house renovation completed. To help out the couple that always put everyone else first, their story appeared on A Current Affair, with an appeal to the community to assist this family with their house renovation. “The job was very rewarding to finish and it was amazing to see an end result in such a short time.  It was awesome to see what can be accomplished when many hands help out. It was an opportunity to use my skills and help out in different areas when needed from demolition to clean up clean up before presentation.  There were long days some even 16 hours but they kept us well fuelled with snacks, drinks, lunches and even dinner for the long nights.” – Steve © Aarons Outdoor Living Read More
